Dance

Katarina Smith was raised in Tampa, Florida, and began her dance training at the age of ten, where she immediately fell in love with dance. She trained at Next Generation Ballet, Blake High School, FL. and graduated from Fordham University (BFA) and The Ailey School- Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, specializing in ballet, modern, contemporary and jazz.  She has performed works by Troy Schumacher, Ranardo-Domieco Grays, Nijawwon Matthews, Chuck Wilt, Janice Rosario, Danielle Diniz and Wendy Powell. Recently, Katarina has danced for Accent Dance, Visions Contemporary Ballet and Ballet Collective. Katarina also choreographed for and performed in the film, Hidden Exposure (2023). She has taught workshops in Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. Katarina completed her capstone project with JUNTOS Collective, where she implemented a curriculum for working with vulnerable communities in Guatemala.  Katarina is currently a freelance dancer and instructor, teaching both Pilates and dance classes in New York City.
